For Agencies
Can I set a signature limit for each client workspace?
Yes. Every workspace you own carries its own signature limit, and you set it per client from the Account page. The limit is a cap on how many signatures that workspace can produce out of your shared pool.
The reason to bother setting it is containment. Your pool is shared across every client, so without per workspace limits one client importing their whole company can quietly consume capacity you were holding for another. The limit is what stops that.
Before you start
| Requirement | Where it lives | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Agency plan active | Your account | Per workspace limits come with multiple workspaces |
| Owner role | The account | The Account page is Owner only. Managers never see it |
| Spare capacity in the pool | Account page | You can only raise one workspace by what another is not using |
How to set a limit
- Open Account. Click your profile avatar in the top right and choose Account.
- Find the workspace in the table, listed under Workspace name. The same row shows Used signatures and Remaining signatures, so you can see what the client is actually consuming before you change anything.
- Use the edit control on that row and set the figure in Signature limit.
- Leave headroom for the client's next few hires. A limit set exactly to today's headcount means the next new joiner lands with no signature and no warning.
A sensible default is the client's current headcount plus whatever growth you expect before your next review with them.
What happens at the limit
Nothing visible, which is the trap. Imports do not fail when a workspace is full. The teammate is created, left with No Group Assigned, and no signature is generated. Nobody is told at the moment it happens.
So a limit set too tightly does not produce an error you can act on. It produces people quietly missing signatures. How to adjust the number of signatures for multiple workspaces covers the full behavior and how to recover.
Common issues and fixes
| Issue | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| New joiners in a client workspace have no signature | That workspace is at its limit | Raise the limit, then assign them to a group |
| Cannot raise a limit | The pool has nothing spare | Lower another workspace's limit, or contact support to increase the pool |
| Cannot see the Account page | Only the Owner reaches it | Sign in as the Owner |
| A client wants to manage their own cap | Managers do not see Account | Set it for them, or agree a figure and review it periodically |
