How do I manage billing and my subscription?
Billing lives on its own page and answers three questions: which plan you are on, how much of it you are using, and how to change either. Subscription changes themselves happen on our payment provider's hosted pages, so the buttons here hand you off rather than doing the work in place.
Only the account Owner has a menu path to Billing. If you manage a workspace but cannot find it, that is why.
What the Billing page shows
Three figures, side by side:
- Active Plan, the plan currently charging you.
- Signature Limit, how many signatures that plan entitles you to.
- Signature Used, how many of them exist today.
Read the last two together before changing anything. Upgrading because you feel short, when usage is well under the limit, usually means signatures are sitting in the wrong workspace rather than that you need more.
Changing or cancelling
Two buttons, both of which open our payment provider's secure hosted page in a new tab:
- Manage Subscription is where you update your card, billing address, and invoice details.
- Cancel Subscription starts the cancellation flow.
Because these are hosted by the payment provider, what you see there is their interface, not ours. Your receipts and invoice history live there too.
To move between plans rather than cancel, use the plans page instead, reachable from Billing.
Automatic seat top-ups
If your workspace runs out of signature capacity, there is an option that buys the next tier automatically so nobody waits.
It is worth understanding before you switch it on:
- It is off by default, and it is set per workspace.
- It charges immediately. There is no checkout screen and no confirmation click. The card on file is charged on the spot.
- A declined payment does not break anything. People simply keep waiting for capacity, exactly as they would with the option off.
- It never shrinks your plan. Removing teammates frees capacity for reuse, but downgrading stays a decision you make deliberately.
Leave it off if you would rather approve every charge. Turn it on if a new hire waiting on a signature costs you more than an unexpected invoice line.
Common issues and fixes
| Issue | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| No Billing in your menu | Only the Owner has a menu path to it | Sign in as the account Owner |
| Signature Used looks wrong | The stored count can drift from the signatures that exist | Check the workspace itself, then contact support if they still disagree |
| You were charged without clicking anything | Automatic seat top-ups are on for that workspace | Turn the option off if you want to approve each charge |
| You need an invoice or receipt | Invoices live with the payment provider | Open Manage Subscription |
| You are on an agency or custom plan and want more capacity | Custom plans are not changed from the plans page | Contact us, since these are invoiced directly |
