Which email clients do SyncSignature signatures work with?
Signatures are built as HTML, which every mail client understands, so they work broadly. What differs between clients is how you install the signature and how faithfully it renders.
We publish step-by-step install guides for:

Two ways a signature gets installed
Which one applies to you changes what you have to do.
Centrally, through an integration. If you connect Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, signatures are installed for your team without each person touching anything, and template updates can reinstall themselves. This is the route for any team above a handful of people.
By hand, per client. For everything else, the person copies their signature and pastes it into their mail client's signature settings. This is a one-time task, but it is repeated for each person and each time the template meaningfully changes.
Rendering differences worth knowing
No signature renders identically everywhere, and that is a property of email itself rather than of any particular tool.
- Outlook on Windows is the strictest renderer of the common clients. Complex layouts and spacing are most likely to shift here, and some versions show only the first frame of an animated GIF.
- Apple Mail and Gmail are generally faithful to what you designed.
- Mobile apps keep less formatting than their desktop counterparts, and store their own separate signature.
- Dark mode is handled inconsistently across clients. A signature with a white logo on a transparent background can disappear against a dark background.
The practical guidance is the same in every case: simpler layouts survive better. Test on Outlook on Windows and one phone before a wide rollout, because if it holds there it will hold nearly everywhere.
Common issues and fixes
