How do I delete a client workspace?

You can delete a client workspace from the Account page when you finish with a client. It is permanent: the confirmation dialog says the action cannot be undone, and it means it.

Because it cannot be reversed, treat deletion as the last step of an offboarding rather than the first. Everything below is about what to do before you click it.

Before you start

Requirement Where it lives Notes
Owner of that workspace The workspace The server rejects the deletion for anyone else, including a Manager
More than one workspace Account page The delete control is hidden when you only have one. You cannot delete your last workspace
Anything you need to keep, already exported The client's workspace Nothing is recoverable afterwards
The client told, if they have logins Your relationship with them Their access disappears without a notification

What to do before deleting

  1. Save any signature HTML the client wants to keep. Once the workspace is gone, so is the copy in it. Clients often ask for this weeks later.
  2. Note the template design if you might rebuild it. Templates do not move between workspaces, so a deleted template is genuinely gone.
  3. Tell anyone with a login. Deleting removes the teammate records in that workspace, so client logins to it stop working immediately and without warning.
  4. Consider lowering the signature limit to zero instead. If you only want to stop a client consuming capacity, editing their limit does that without destroying anything, and it is reversible. This is the better move when a client is pausing rather than leaving.

How to delete a client workspace

  1. Open Account. Click your profile avatar in the top right and choose Account. Only the Owner can reach this page.
  2. Find the client's row in the workspace table.
  3. Click the delete icon on that row. It appears only when you have more than one workspace.
  4. Read the confirmation. It states the action cannot be undone.
  5. Confirm with Delete, or Cancel to back out.

What deletion removes

Deleting removes the workspace itself and the teammate records attached to it. Anyone who had access to that workspace loses it, and the client disappears from your workspace table and switcher.

Check your remaining capacity on the Account table afterwards. If the numbers do not look right once the workspace is gone, contact support rather than deleting more to compensate, because reallocating from a wrong figure makes it harder to untangle.

Common issues and fixes

Issue Cause Fix
No delete icon on the row You only have one workspace, or you are not the Owner You cannot delete your last workspace. Otherwise sign in as the Owner
The deletion was refused The server allows only that workspace's Owner to delete it Sign in as the Owner of that specific workspace
A client needs their signatures back after deletion Deletion cannot be undone Nothing can be restored. Rebuild from whatever you exported
You wanted to pause a client, not remove them Deletion is the wrong tool for a pause Set their Signature limit low or to zero instead. It is reversible
Capacity does not look right afterwards The stored usage figures can drift Contact support rather than reallocating from a figure you doubt
